Pontoon Beach woman faces gun charge

EDWARDSVILLE – A Pontoon Beach woman was charged after firing a gun at another person, and multiple battery charges were filed in separate incidents in Madison County Tuesday.

Miprecious J. Green, 23, of Pontoon Beach, was charged July 26 with aggravated discharge of a firearm, a Class 1 felony.

The case was presented by the Pontoon Beach Police Department.

According to court documents, on July 25 Green allegedly fired a Glock 43 9 mm handgun in the direction of another person.

Other felony charges filed July 26 by the Madison County State’s Attorney’s Office include:

• Joann R. Crites, 29, listed as homeless out of Granite City, was charged with aggravated battery, a Class 2 felony. The case was presented by the Granite City Police Department. According to court documents, on July 26 Crites allegedly struck a household or family member in the head with a blunt object, causing a laceration. Bail was set at $30,000.

• Karen J. Snyder, 61, of Granite City, was charged with two counts of aggravated battery, both Class 3 felonies. The case was presented by the Granite City Police Department. On July 25 Snyder allegedly struck an 8-year-old boy in the head with a power drill and sprayed mace in the face of a 4-year-old boy. Bail was set at $25,000.

• Danielle Montgomery, 43, of Granite City, was charged with two counts of aggravated battery, both Class 3 felonies. The case was presented by the Granite City Police Department. On July 26 Montgomery allegedly struck two nurses. Bail was set at $20,000.

• Victoria G. Payton, 29, of Collinsville, was charged with aggravated unlawful use of weapons, a Class 4 felony. The case was presented by the Glen Carbon Police Department. On July 25 Payton allegedly was carrying a loaded and accessible Taurus 9 mm handgun in a motor vehicle without a valid Firearm Owner’s Identification Card or concealed carry license. Bail was set at $50,000.

• Robert C. Nemeth III, 37, of Granite City, was charged with domestic battery (second subsequent offense), a Class 4 felony. The case was presented by the Madison County Sheriff’s Department. On July 25 Nemeth allegedly hit a household or family member in the arm with a skillet. He has a conviction for aggravated battery to a person 60 or older out of Madison County in 2021 and Jan. 21, 2022. Bail was set at $30,000.
